"My people will sleep for one hundred years, but when they awake, it will be the artists who give them their Spirit back."- Louis Riel
Laird Goulet's unique and vibrant painting style reflects the spiritual and artistic imprints that have been inherently transferred to him by his grandmothers. Laird uses the beadwork pattern to best capture the floral beadwork and the rich birchbark biting imprints that his grandmothers had mastered before him.

"AWAKEN"
Medium: Fine art print after acrylic painting
Size: Print size to be confirmed
A goose has fallen behind her flock after being hurt. Another stays with her while she heals. When she is strong enough to fly again, winter has settled over the land. A musher and dog team crossing below startle her into the air, and she turns toward the mountains in search of her flock. The painting holds that moment of awakening: finding strength after a difficult time and setting out again with hope.

"A Great Journey"
Medium: Fine art print after acrylic painting
Size: To be determined
The woman welcomes the day with her dog team beside her, travelling toward the family trapline in the warmth of the sun. She knows this land through the seasons and the life it once sustained. There was a time when muskrats were abundant along these waterways, before hydro dams changed the flow of the water and their numbers declined. Beadwork-inspired patterns carry the colour and movement of that memory through the painting. Her journey holds both gratitude for the life the trapline gave her family and care for what has been lost.
Print only: Please contact me for current sizes, materials, and prices.
"Beginning of the Hunt"

High above them, a bird sings into the morning. Its song travels over the camp and across the water, greeting the woman as she begins her journey. The bird brings a sense of life and possibility to the scene, while the women s work keeps the camp cared for until she returns.

"Inninew Heart"
Medium: Print on paper, canvas
Size: 24x36
Price: $150
From the fish eye series, three fisherman cast their Nets into the vastness of the lake, as the nets sink slowly into the depths the fish slowly swim, this image brings back a memory of when the fish were plentiful and lakes and rivers hadn't dried up, I hope to encourage appreciation for what we have on this land.
Trappers and Fisherman continue the struggle to stabilize the environment wrought by the onslaught of energy needs of society, through peaceful protest our lands have become war grounds over the needs of people, hopefully future generations will pick up the mantle to preserve and protect the health of our lands and all life forms that inhabit our beautiful Earth.
This painting belongs to my Mom forever in our hearts rest in peace Mom I love You....

Like the Lynx travels the frozen tundra, a lone warrior, braves the land, becomes one with nature, the Geese that fly overhead tie our spirits to the Land sewing an intricate dance with Nature that our spirits can only understand.
The style that revealed itself later in the painting, Laird coined the term "Humanistic Style" as he sought to interpret what the human spirit might experiences from hardship to recovery to resilience.
Laird choose to interpret this concept from the "spirit animal" concept, Laird hopes that spirit of courage flows from this painting too the viewer....

The act of preparation is in direct correlation to our own camp, to prepare for the future but enjoy the present.
As I was thinking of naming this painting, the hide part of the image reminded me of the Interstellar object that at the present time I was finishing this piece, 3I/ATLAS was passing by our Sun, I have a Sun in my image that what looks like 3I/ATLAS passing by just like what was happening in our Galaxy, so this image will be tied to this astronomical once-in-a-life-time event.
